Role and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes requests for changes to existing systems or development of new systems, determines impact on existing systems and feasibility, proposes various possible solutions and related costs, and makes recommendations.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents those programs.
- Superior analytical skills and technical skills and often handles the more complex design/development tasks.
- Creating web services for service oriented architecture.
- Design and develop web services, based on use cases, in close collaboration with business analysts and other technical team members (specifically working on integration to third party applications)
- Support of a Production code base as well as implementation of new features and improvements.
- Producing technical design documentation
- Working on proofs of concept, prototypes and reference implementations to serve as a guide for other developers.
- Collaborating with and providing support to other programmers, architects, BA and QA analysts throughout the organization.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Very strong communication skills are a must
- Enterprise Java development experience
- Spring Framework 3.0-4.1 (Spring WS, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Webflow, etc.)
- Maven 2.0-3.2
- Subversion
- jQuery or jQuery Mobile
- Strong JavaScript background would be ideal
- Java profiling experience would be a plus (JSON, Node.js, Angular.js)
- Experience with browser debugging tools
- Experience with a technical design documentation tool
